Prescriptions :
For patients who take multiple prescriptions at various times of the day, before and after meal, we print out 'presription instructions' in a tabular form such that patients know what medication and how much, tablet or liquid, they need to take by time of day. Our prescriptions tracking system not only takes care of the medications prescribed by your practice, but, gives you room to enter prescribed medications by other providers.
Please contact us if you want to see how this works in our InfoCare software.
Multiple
practices in a single data base : A
billing company was using a billing software that accessed data for all
its practices from different directories. This required it to prepare
electronic claims file separately for each practice. With our InfoCare
software data of all practices reside only in one directory. Only one
electronic claims file is prepared. However, all reports are generated
separately for each practice.
Direct
Patient Registration Data Transfer From Hospital :
For a group of five doctors,
their hospital information systems department made a file of the
patients data available for the group's office staff to download every
morning. With a click of a button that we provided to them in InfoCare
Practice Management Software, they were able to register all patients
in this file. Data transferred was not only about the patients' names,
addresses and insurance data, but, also the referring doctors and any
procedures done to the patients.
InfoCare not only checked if the
data was for a new patient, but also checked if the hospital admission
was for a patient who was previously registered in the practice. In
that case old information was automatically updated and duplicate
registration was avoided.
Hospital liked this as it saved
them from printing papers (more than the time, think of the trees!),
and the practice could assign other more productive tasks to the
registration staff. Plus, no more filing of all that hospital paper.
Electronic
File of Collection Accounts : When
a patient's balance becomes older than you would like and your
collections efforts are going nowhere, you may decide to turn over the
account to a professional collection agency. Collection agencies need
account relevant information from you. You may print this out and fax
or mail it to the agency. They in turn, will enter this information in
their 'collection' software. Wouldn't it be much better, if you were
able to send this information as an electronic file? You would save
time, paper cost and postage. The collection company would save time
and gain in the accuracy of the transfer of data.
Recently, we modified InfoCare
for a Radiology practice to accomplish this. As the staff determines
that an account needs to be turned over to their collection agency,
they mark the account. About once a month, when they need to send an
electronic file to the collection agency, they see this list of marked
accounts, amend it if needed, and then create an electronic file. This
is sent to the collection agency by means it has identified.
